ART FOUNDATIONS 11 AF11


A foundation course which introduces the student to the visual arts, its history, philosophy and practice. The course has an emphasis on modern and contemporary art. ART STUDIO PRACTICES—the students will be introduced to various mediums, tools, and techniques. Topics covered include:

 

ART FOUNDATIONS 12 AF12


Art Foundations 12 is a continuation of AF11 and introduces a broad range of materials and processes. An emphasis is placed on the development of personal imagery. Students may select a personalized program from the following areas after a period of general study:

 

STUDIO ART: CERAMICS & SCULPTURE 11/12 SAC 11 & SAC12

This course deals with working in three dimensions. The student is introduced to both traditional and contemporary forms of sculpture and crafts, as well as their history and traditon. Students will develop, after a period of time, a self-directed program in one or two of the following areas:

STUDIO ART: DRAWING & PAINTING 11/12 SAD11 & SAD12

After a period of foundation projects and exercises the student may select a program from the following offerings:

THEATRE PRODUCTION 10 & 11 DRD 10 & TPT 11

Theatre production deals with construction, design and painting sets and building props for productions mounted in the school theatre. As well as set design students will learn safe and correct carpentry and joinery procedures. A few students may choose to specialize in make up and costume design and management.
